Witzob Glamping Adventures has a base camp in Santa Elena/San Ignacio, Cayo and a 30 ft Gemini catamaran in Placencia. We offer the best of both worlds in one package, facilitating all your inland excursions while providing a luxurious 3-day, 2-night camping adventure to the islands and reefs of Belize.

This is a private campground, so you and your friends or family will be our only guests. We can accommodate up to 8 people. Our tree fort unit features a queen bed, two singles, and a private bathroom. We can also accommodate two tents (with space for 2 people each) in our palapa, set up on a deck with a thatched roof for protection from the sun and rain. There is power, fans, and a TV in the area for your comfort.

We have a fully equipped kitchen with all necessary cooking utensils, dishes/cutlery, a BBQ, and a mini fridge. Whether you prefer to cook your own meals or bring in takeout from a local restaurant, we provide everything you need to sit back, relax, and enjoy your dining experience.

Our common area amenities include:

A gas firepit
A dining room, kitchen, and lounge areas
A small living room area with TV
A hammock cabana with TV
A Mayan ball court where you can actually play.
Our island excursion lasts 3 days and 2 nights. We visit three different islands: Moho, King Lewey’s, and Rhythm Reef. We depart from Placencia at 9 AM, arriving between 12 and 1 PM at the island that will serve as our base camp. The base camp is determined the day before departure based on wind direction and speed, ensuring safe anchorage. Each island provides shelter from the wind depending on the wind’s angle.

Once at the island, we will have lunch while the crew sets up all the tents and camping gear, allowing you to relax and enjoy the island’s amenities. A shower is available so you can wash off the saltwater at the end of your day. We provide all cooking utensils, condiments, spices, oil, and butter. You bring your own meat, cheese, bread, and drinks, and we’ll supply coolers and ice to keep everything fresh.

While we can supply food and a cook, this option is more expensive.

After dinner, we’ll enjoy a beach bonfire. All islands are equipped with loungers, tables, and hammocks, ensuring comfort is never an issue.

On Day 2, we leave for one of the other two islands, where we will have lunch and enjoy snorkeling or swimming. The island is chosen based on wind direction. We return to our base camp island by 3 PM for another BBQ and bonfire.

Day 3 starts with breakfast while the crew packs up. We then head to the third island for lunch and a swim before returning to Placencia.

King Lewey’s offers a fantastic restaurant over the water, with reasonable food prices. An average entrée with drinks costs around $35–$50 BZ, depending on your order. The island also offers kayak and paddleboard rentals.

We also have a base camp in Santa Elena/San Ignacio with a tree fort glamping unit nestled among trees that attract the keel-billed toucan. These colorful birds are regular visitors, often seen right overhead. The unit includes a queen bed and two singles, one of which is located higher in the tree and requires access via a three-step ladder.

If you are staying at our base camp in Cayo before or after the sailing trip, you’ll enjoy several advantages. We use highly accurate weather apps that forecast conditions up to 7 days ahead. We do not require payment for the sailing portion until 7 days before departure, once we confirm favorable weather conditions. This flexibility allows you to reschedule your trip if necessary.

For example, one guest initially planned to sail at the beginning of her stay, but due to poor weather, we moved her sailing trip to the end, ensuring perfect conditions. This flexibility prevents the need to cancel or rearrange other activities or reservations. We work closely with local tour operators and guides to facilitate your inland tours and ensure everything aligns with your sailing days.

We’re happy to connect with you online and answer any questions. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
